A blissfully short list because no one really comes close to this trio, except for Bartz of course. He’ll he added in the next version, coming soon! Like the other Ninja elements, Shadow also has a claim here but I’ll detail him more in the section devoted to Ninjas. Edge and Yuffie are allowed to stay because they’re meant to be Water characters.
Wind S Tier – Autumn 2017

Not gonna talk about this much for the time being. Know that this list isn’t final and Fujin will have a little magical lady company thanks to Barbariccia.
Earth S Tier – Autumn 2017

No magical characters in here yet, but there will be once the cutoff date is expanded past the end of October. Maria gets a chance to join the crew!
For now it’s a Knight party. It’s more crowded than it looks though. Bartz and The Ninjas exist in this space and in many others and shouldn’t be overlooked.
Lightning S Tier – Autumn 2017

A nice split here between two physical and two magical characters and each side having a chain. I expect this to change soon with the addition of a third chain. Maybe with that addition of Garnet we’ll find a worthy physical character to maintain the balance?

Ice S Tier – Autumn 2017
S Tier Ice Characters
From the way the game has gone, you’d expect strong Ice characters to be few and far between, but they’ve all simply been hiding in a single realm, Final Fantasy VIII.
Fire S Tier – Autumn 2017
S Tier Fire Characters
At the top of the damage list is the most expansive category. Fire damage dealers are plentiful, and the S Tier is held to a high standard because of it. Otherwise, this single tier would be as large as some entire lists.
That’s exciting, because it allows us to highlight some of the truly most powerful characters in the game since a few have taken up residence in the fire part of town.
